Paul, one of my college buddies, grew up in Chicago and still lives there today. He used to tell me that when he was growing up, any time the Bears lost a game, everyone in the house would be too pissed to speak to each other — especially his parents.
There are going to be more days like that at Paul’s place this year. Bears QB Rex Grossman broke his ankle in a preseason game against the Rams on Friday night. He’ll be out between 3 and 4 months. So for most of this season, Chicago will be without a semi-reliable quarterback once again.
I’m wondering how many people in Chicago would be willing to give up their entire 2006 Draft right now for Philip Rivers…
